This painting is from a series of small Dartmoor landscapes in Spring, using a simple and fresh colour palette to capture the cleansing, briskness of the Spring weather and the verdant new vegetation.
'Crossing' was inspired by the meandering wall and stream following the similar route as we did, that of least resistance, as we walked from Two Bridges, past Wistman's wood and onto Beardown Man, to then drop back into the valley to find a camping spot.

Full description
Original artwork, acrylic on canvas framed in a grey, wooden frame. Artwork size: 30x23cm.
A stone wall and stream wind up the valley below tors and gorse. A simple, clean colour palette reflecting the freshness of spring on the moors and contrasting textures.
The scene is looking south down the West Dart River, north of Two Bridges and a little way from Wistman's Woods..
The panting is framed in a grey, wooden canvas floater frame. The painting has been out to exhibition and therefore the frame is not 'as new' and shows some minor, aesthetic scuffs and this is reflected in the price.
