Crossing boundaries to stray upon the moors.
This painting is part of a series of small works of Dartmoor in the spring. The contrasting textures and aspects of the landscape were reflected in m handling of the paint; with the hard stone wall thickly applied with hard edges, the brush marks of the rising conifers and the simplicity of the open blue sky.
Although the lone daffodil amongst the fresh grass may seem like it has strayed beyond its boundaries, it is perhaps the trees of the plantation behind, or us - the rambler.
