When some of our first barrels arrived at the den the lids were split in two halfs. The end table was born.

Full description
These tables make a nice low-level sofa end table but also look nice as a telephone table. After sanding the whisky barrel lids, the badger cuts them in half and uses two of the barrel staves and banding to make these twin leave tables.

"What's the black on the back of the wood?"
When the barrels are first made by the coopers they burn the inside of the barrels. This charing gives the whiskey its flavor.
"What are the strange notches on the wood end?"
On the end of each oak stave you might see the shape of the wood is different. These notches are cut into the wood which held onto the barrel lid
"What is a stave?"
Stave is the name given to each bit of wood used to make the barrel
