Hello! I am a freelance artist & illustrator, whose work is created using a mixture of chalk pastel, pencil and coloured pencil. I sell Giclee Art prints, drawings, greeting cards, wrapping paper, stickers, ceramic ornaments and coasters, tote bags and wall calendars - all featuring my illustrations!
Please feel free to contact me if you have a question! Original drawings of many designs are also available to purchase.
I made a book of the Velveteen Rabbit story for my illustration degree show, over 15 years ago - I am still selling some of the popular illustration prints! For this piece I researched the dolls at the V&A Museum of Childhood.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
PLEASE NOTE: this signed, limited edition Art print is in my 'seconds' sale as it used to be mounted and so has marks from tape on the back of it (it is not sticky though, and it is totally flat). The picture is in tact! A part of the top of the white border around it (the picture is set in a white border) is slightly discoloured, but will easily be covered by a mount.
-------
I created this piece using chalk pastels and pencils, cutting and collaging the drawings together for more impact. It illustrates is a scene from the classic "The Velveteen Rabbit" story by Margery Williams, which was set in the 1920's. The 'modern' mechanical toys make the little rabbit feel very unwelcome in the nursery. The lighting and the curtain are very theatrical, as is the dramatic crop of the image.
"The mechanical toys were very superior, and looked down upon everyone else; they were full of modern ideas, and pretended they were real."
