A very warm welcome to Elflock Woolworks at Waney Grain. I'm Karen and I'm a free-style experimental knitter working with luxurious yarns that feel silky-soft against the skin.My husband, Nick, is a woodturner and he is the Waney Grain side of this Folksy shop.
All of our pieces are handmade, and each piece is unique
Nick says: My work has been inspired by my wife, Karen, who was the first to show me the wonderful possibilities that waney-edged wood might work as a dramatic, organic, textured and visually appealing food server. Our pieces are the product of our imaginations and our evolving craftsmanship. We continue to inspire each other.
While some of our pieces share elements of design, and the techniques are often the same, no two pieces are identical and none has the soulless 'perfection' of machine-made manufactured pieces.
All of our pieces are a manifestation of our common core values: simplicity of form showcasing the beauty of natural wood and our commitment to the manual processes.

W: 6.5" (15cms)

Crafted in our cosy Waney Grain Artisan Woodworks workshop in Nottinghamshire by Nick Titmus. Nick is an enthusiastic and sensitive artisan crafter who creates beautiful waney-edged cheese boards, table centres and conversation pieces from native English hardwood. In particular, Nick loves to find woods that display fascinating natural colours and intriguing grain patterns.
Nick has created this beautifully grained, waney edged cheeseboard from locally sourced English Elm. Sanded to a sleek and smooth surface, this board has been finished with Chestnut Food Safe Oil.
To care for your board, please do NOT immerse it in water. We recommend that after food use, all foodstuff should be remove as soon as possible, then using a piece of slightly damp
and well wrung out kitchen paper, wipe the whole of the board. Wiping the whole of the board ensures that no patches of discolouration occur.. Your board can be left to dry naturally. If there is any discolouration this can be easily removed with a light sanding and an application of food safe oil.
We supply care kits with all of our cheeseboards.
Please note that the tealights and cheese knife in our pictures are for display only and are not included with this board.
