This original artwork “Vaseline Glass” is a 4-layer reduction linocut of a uranium glass decanter that even glows in the dark like the item that inspired it, This artwork is printed on A6 recycled 300 GSM Card

The print is sold UNFRAMED and shipped wrapped in tissue paper inside a recycled envelope in an attempt to keep my shop as eco-friendly as possible

Postage Details:

This print will then be posted plastic-free in a hard-backed envelope to avoid damage and arrive in perfect condition

From the 1830s Uranium was added to decorative glass for its fluorescent glow when exposed to UV light. ⁠James Powell’s Whitefriars glass company was one of the first to market glowing glass. Uranium glass was once made into household items but fell out of fashion due to the discovery of radiation poisoning and the scarcity of uranium during the Cold War⁠.
