There are 365 rows in this throw, each representing the calendar of days in 2023 and their temperature at mid day as recorded by Cranwell (Lincs).
There 10 colours, mainly shades of pink/purple, each marking 3 degrees and getting darker as the temperature gets higher. The blanket therefore begins and ends with the cooler colours, and the centre section has the warmer dark pinks and purples. The divisions of the months are also marked by a woven thread.
The wool used is a good quality acrylic yarn from a well known Yorkshire producer.
This is a large throw approx 48" x 74", suitable as a double bed cover or a snuggle rug big enough for two
Because of the nature of the design, this had been a year long project, taking 15-20 min each day. finishing with a final day's work on the border

Challenged on line to make a temperature blanket, I actually made two as I was not happy with the colour gradings of the first, and became quite obsessive. The temperatures only remain on line for 24 hours so I had to be careful not to miss it and for various reasons I missed the daily stitching sometimes and has to work hard to catch up. Because of the time taken, this is an expensive item but because of the special nature it is well worth it, especially for anyone with a connection to the county or the year.
