Hi there! Welcome to my shop- Islamaymakes.
All of my makes are my own ideas and exclusive to me. Yes- they do cost a little more than mass produced items because they are all one of a kind , handsticthed, embroidered works of felt art.
I use only heirloom quality 100 % wool felt made in Europe and supplied by two UK based companies.
The felt is soft, strong, non-flammable and naturally stain resistant: it doesn't lose shape or go bobbly and contains no nasty chemicals.
I use natural 100% British wool fleece for stuffing my makes. It has been carefully washed and dried in the UK and has not been bleached or subjected to any chemical processes.
Natural wool’s advantages over synthetic alternatives are clear; it is hypoallergenic, odour resistant, and a natural fire retardant.
I sew with DMC or Anchor 100 % cotton threads , Liberty Print Tana Lawn for appliques work and where possible I use Tana Lawn spaghetti cord or cotton sateen ribbon for my hangers.

Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) happens this year on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Ang Pow (red envelopes), which will most likely contain money from family members or friends of the family will be given as gifts.

Full description
This beautifully appliqued and embroidered pure wool hanging decoration depicts the wood dragon, the lucky animal for this Lunar New Year which begins this year on Saturday 10th February. I have used red and yellow the traditional colours of this festival. Yellow and red embroidered balls add to the interest of this truly unique piece.
This decoration can be used as an ang pow which is usually a red envelope containing
money , given as gifts to children and adults at this celebration. I have included a pouch for money on the reverse side of the decoration.

I have made just one of these decorations. If you would like to commision me to make one for you DM me. Please allow 7 days making time per make. Because I want each make to be unique ,each subsequent new make will be slightly different from the original.
Although very attractive to both adults and children, my makes they are NOT toys. They are decorative accessories and as such have not been tested for toy safety.
