I started making dolls inspired by real women. To celebrate their unique story. I like to make diverse dolls, with unique stories. Each one is handmade and one of a kind. I have never made 2 dolls the same. Each dolls is lovingly crafted by me and is a joy to make.

Handmade cloth art doll based on the darling of the jazz age Josephine Baker.
Famous for her risque performances in the 1920s and went on to emigrate to France, during the war years became involved with the French Resistance. A truly fascinating woman. She went on to adopt numerous children and advocate for civil rights during the mid 20th century.
She is made from Kona Cotton and stuffed with hi loft polyester stuffing. She is bead and button jointed and her costume is reminiscent of her stage costumes of the 1920s. Featuring a green and gold coloured torso in striped silk and organza skirt. Her arms are made of wool felt and handmade yoyos from vintage fabrics, her legs are made from green silk mix dupion.
This doll is intended for display purposes only and is not sold as or suitable as a toy. Due to methods of construction and small parts which may be a choke hazard.
