John has always been inspired by the natural beauty of wood, as a young boy he would carve characters out of firewood! After 30 years of being in the engineering industry, he now combines his welding skills with his love of wood to create sustainable pieces.

This one-of-a-kind, rustic coat rack with hooks is made from premium oak and even incorporates a chair into the design. It is perfect for children to take off their school shoes or wellingtons after a long day at school or playing outside. The coat rack also comes with a beautiful steel cabinet underneath the seat to neatly hide away shoes.
It would work equally well as a bedroom cabinet or playroom tidy; all children will have a stage in their lives when learning the importance of putting things away and when you have a beautiful place to hang your coat you maybe more inclined to do so!
Finishing touches include 3 cast iron hooks that feature a distinguished scroll and have a decorative look of years gone by; the oak baton they are fixed to has beautiful markings that denote how old the tree was and where it grew! The door fixings are reminiscent of a treasure chest, with an easy pull handle that clicks back into place when closed; its the perfect place to stow away anything you don't want on show. This space could even double up as a place to hide those special treasures your child found when beach combing for shells or stone hunting on the walk home from school! Whether you use the chest as a shoe cabinet or a store it's a practical yet stunning piece of handmade furniture and the weight of the oak pieces and solid steel make it a heavy yet sturdy piece of furniture.
