An ultra-thin, handmade gift box with separate lid, based on the Papermania 'Eastern Opulence' series of beautiful decorative papers which, on this box, features swirling, eddying shapes on a purple background. These boxes are complete and ready to use, requiring no further assembly, and the paper completely covers the exterior and interior of both the lid and the base with no cardboard showing. This range comes complete with a black felt insert which can be removed if required to reveal the fully covered interior.
Ideal for all items not requiring a deep box, such as delicate jewellery pieces, silk scarves, embroidered handkerchiefs, etc. Perfect for gifts being posted as the boxes can be sent via large letter post rather than the much more expensive parcel post.
Normally dispatched in a single 'transporter box', an additional option is available in which the decorative box plus a 'transporter box' are both dispatched within a slightly larger outer box, leaving the inner 'transporter box' fully usable for customer applications. Giving a present in a handmade box adds something extra special to the gift. The boxes I make are very inexpensive but even so many customers have told me they keep the box long after it arrived containing their gift. But the problem in trying to sell handmade boxes via mail order, such as on Folksy, is that they usually have to be sent via parcel post and the ever rising cost of postage inflates the final price a customer has to pay to the point at which it becomes uncommercial. So, I developed a technique to create a range of very slim boxes that can be sent via Royal Mail Large Letter post rather than as a parcel, which almost halves the current postage cost. The same Large Letter can usually even take two boxes thus reducing postage costs.
And, if you're sending your gift to someone else, with care, the package in which your box is sent to you can also be reused for this. Alternatively, an option exists for both decorative box and transporter box to be dispatched to you in an additional outer box.

However, I will also be featuring larger boxes which will require to be sent via parcel post but these will be available as sets of three to offset postage costs. New designs will be being added regularly. So please visit my shop whenever you have time.

Previous individual gift boxes had to be posted to customers via expensive parcel post making the purchase price too hgh. These slim gift boxes are designed to be sent via Royal Mail Large Letter post, reducing the cost of sending them to customers and also the price customers would pay for sending them on with gifts for friends and relatives.

Additional terms

Combined Postage. As the postage cost of sending two boxes from the 'ultra-thin' ranges is the same as that for an individual box, this enables any mix of any two available boxes from any of the ultra-thin ranges, ordered at the same time, to be charged the prevailing single Large Letter postage rate as shown. Folksy is unable to process this combined postage automatically so the excess postage will be refunded to you once the order is placed. Any orders above this will be sent via Parcel Post but will include the individual transport boxes for sending on. The above only applies to the ultra-thin box products, not the deeper three box sets or the larger ultra-thin collections of notecards.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
