Full description
A bespoke lampwork adorned sewing kit with handmade glass buttons, retractable measuring tape with a cabochon glass robin and embroidery style scissors with a glass bead charm. Traditional lampwork (also known as flamework) techniques have been used to create the glass items.
The glass buttons are shank style and have a small ridge on the back of the button that helps guide the needle through (photo 8). They are roughly 12mm in size but they may vary slightly in style and shape as each is individually made.
The measuring tape is 1.5 meters in length and has a button on the back to retract the tape. The embroidery style scissors have a glass bird charm that can be removed and used as a key ring.
COE 104 glass has been used to create the glass items.
The lampwork bead has been annealed in the kiln to relieve internal stresses that may have formed during the melting process and thus increase the overall durability and strength. However, please note that whilst the bead has been kiln annealed it is still delicate due to the nature of glass.
Most items will be sent via 2nd Class unless stated otherwise. If you require an urgent delivery, please let me know and I can send it via an alternative mail service at an additional cost.
