Full description
There are more shades of green seaglass than any other colour and has been in production for over three thousand years. Green is a naturally occurring colour in glass due to the mineral impurities found in glassmakers sand and by adding these minerals during different points of the glass making process produced different hues and shades.
These petite chips of seaglass were found along the North East coast, it took many visits over the course of a year to find two pieces of similar shape and shade to match and craft this pair of earrings. The pieces are naturally tumbled by the sea, we do not tumble or reshape the glass. This is why seaglass tends to have imperfections or 'C' marks which occurs from being dashed against the shore.
The holes were bored using specialist equipment.
The earwires, findings and jump rings used are all solid 925 sterling silver.
