- ABOUT THE MOSAIC -
Check out the aaamaaazing raku door in all its handmade gorgeousness. The foxy door is original & unique & was handmade by a super-talented British artisan. The ceramic 'keep the ban' tile was handmade for me by another super-talented British artisan & relates to keeping the ban on fox hunting. The leaves, spots & number (19) etc.. have all been hand cut to shape by me using traditional mosaic tools, from vintage plates. I have used a plywood base & a black grout to make the colours pop. The toadstool which measures approximately 13.5cm x 13.5cm is for decorative indoor use only & is ready to hang on the wall. An original & unique gift for a toadstool / fox lover
- ABOUT MY STYLE -
My style of mosaic making is known as pique assiette, which various sources say means “stolen plate” or “broken plate”. I have always been an avid recycler & predominantly use recycled teacups, saucers, plates & other found objects in my art. My style means my creations are not only totally unique, but are also inline with the 3 Rs of recycling - reducing waste, reusing and recycling
