This industrial style table, like all of our furniture, is constructed from premium quality unsorted redwood. The seven 40mm thick boards that make up the table top, are carefully tongue and grooved to provide maximum strength once glued together. To ensure that the top stays flat, three 2 x 1 oak runners are fixed to the underside. These are attached in a way that will allow the tabletop to move in response to humidity changes, thus preventing the cracking which can sometimes occur in such situations.
In place of standard legs, this table is supported in the centre by an elaborate spider style leg arrangement. This is made from hollow box section steel and finished in black powder coat. This design allows you to comfortably seat people all around the table.
We use Fiddes hard wax oil to finish our tables. In addition to providing a gorgeous, deep lustre, this coating is extremely durable yet easy to maintain. The finish in the pictured example is called English, please see the colour palette in the gallery for further options.
