Full description
This Christmas Garland has 7 folded stars. The 4 multicoloured stars are made from a sheet of my unique marbled paper, and the other 3 are folded from plain gold paper. Each star has been carefully folded from a pentagon. The marbled stars measure about 6.5cm and the gold stars are about 5cm. They are strung onto a length of invisible thread so that each one can be gently moved along, allowing you to space them as you wish. This garland is approximately 130cm.
I hand marble each sheet of paper one at a time in my Angus studio using either gouache or acrylic paints on a bath of carrageenan seaweed solution. The process of marbling requires skill and time and the finished papers are used for many different purposes.
