Full description
Cobalt blue seaglass has a long history going all the way back to the time of king Tut. In the 1700's it was found in many a prosperous home in the shape of decorative lamps and vases. By the mid 1800's cobalt and Cornflower Blue glass were mainly used as medicine and poison bottles.
These dainty chips of seaglass were found along the North East coast, it took many visits to find two pieces close enough to pair as the colour is so rare to find. The pieces are naturally tumbled by the sea, we do not tumble or reshape the glass. This is why seaglass tends to have imperfections or 'C' marks which occurs from being dashed against the shore.
The holes were bored using specialist equipment.
The earwires, findings and jump rings used are all solid sterling silver.
