Hand spun wool yarn, two ply, spun by me on a drop spindle, out in the wilds of Northumberland.
This is aprox 45g, and aprox 58 metres of hand spun yarn.
It is the colour of bright burgundy berries, so warm and vibrant, like a good, deep wine and I loved spinning it.

I learnt to spin in the spring of 2020 and have been in love with it ever since!

I come from a long line of crafting women, and while I knew the mechanics of spinning, I have never had a proper go. In the Spring of 2020, I bought a drop spindle and some yarn, and was astonished to discover my hands and my heart knew how to turn fibre into yarn. I've loved spinning ever since and create small collections of hand spun yarn, often with reclaimed or recycled fibres.
