Garnet is the traditional birthstone for Capricorn and the month of January.
The term Garnet actually applies to a group of minerals that are related in composition and structure, but differ in colour.
The dark red that we most associate with Garnet is known as Pyrope Garnet.
The lighter, more raspberry pink of the faceted beads is known as Rhodolite Garnet, which I have used for these earrrings
The ancient Egyptians buried their dead with necklaces and ornaments of Garnet.
The common belief that Garnets had the power to shield their wearer from harm made them popular with both royalty and warriors.
In the middle ages it was believed that a dragons eyes glowed red because they were made of Garnet.
It is thought to be a highly protective stone.
Garnet is also the stone for the second wedding anniversary.

Full description
Each sparkly drop earring features a 8x6mm Garnet oval topped with a 3mm gold vermeil stardust rondelle, a 6mm Rose Quartz round bead and a trio of 3mm, AAA grade, faceted Rhodolite Garnet beads.
The beads are threaded onto gold vermeil pins and hung from gold vermeil ear-hooks.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold, and the wires are stamped '925'.
These pretty earrings measure approximately 1.25 inches (3cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
