The four pointed star has become a bit of an emblem for my family - my engagement ring is a lotus cut diamond, which looks like a four pointed star, and its come to represent myself, my husband, and our two daughters. We replicated this shape inside my husband's signet ring, setting our birthstones inside the ring in the four pointed star shape. Perhaps it could symbolise your family too :)
