Back in 2016 my friend had a bag like this and I loved the style, so asked where she got its. She pointed me in the direction of an online crochet shop called Kralentik and there were so many lovely designs that my mum and I just had to buy some crochet kits. In 2016 I had no clue how to crochet, I could knit, but crochet was one of those crafts that I couldn’t get my head around, so my mum was going to make these bags. Unfortunately she ended up frustrated and couldn’t finish the bags. This turned out fortunate for me and you, because I have had to learn to crochet so I could take on this project myself. Once I got the hang of crocheting I was unstoppable and I’ve crocheted ever since!
So in a way this bag was the catalyst to me being here right now.
I have a book full of patterns and will be showcasing others on my shop in due course. I have a mini oval zebra pattern bag on the hook at the moment.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description

These bags are a work of art that takes crochet to the next level. Tapestry crochet, also known as Jacquard, Mosaic, Fair Isle or simply ‘colour work’ crochet, is a form of crochet closely resembling a woven texture.

The alternating yarn colours are carried all the way through the pattern, meaning more yarn is required for the finished project. Usually stitched in single crochet the project does take a while to complete and I would suggest you order at least 3-6 months ahead of when you need your bag finished. It is that work intensive. On average there about 60 hours of work in a bag like this, materials cost around £25, so you’ll see this is somewhat a labour of love. Get in touch to discuss what you’d like your bag to look like, select your colours (up to 5 complementary shades) or give me a hint and I’ll try to come up with some suggestions. You can also select your desired design. So it’s important to contact me well in advance so I can shop for the correct materials and allow for time in my planning. The delivery time may go over the standard times set out on Folksy.
