I make a lot of sock weight hats but realised that non wool wearers were missing out. Interesting yarn of this weight is not always easy to find so when I saw this one with its gorgeous earthy tones I had to have it!

If you like a warm head but don't wear wool for any reason then this beanie maybe just waht you're looking for!
I have crocheted this in a sock weight acrylic yarn so it is lightweight but with the close textured stitches it is lovely and warm too and best of all it can be machine washed when it needs a freshen up!
The hat is approx 8 inches high and 22 inches around at the brim but will easily stretch out another couple of inches if needed. The colours are beautiful in shdes of greens, blues and browns and with just a little orange. Definitely a unisex hat and great for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors.
Being a close fitting hat with no bobble it could also be worn undernesth your hood on really cold days too or if you're outside but not moving around much maybe fishing, bird watching or as a photographer just waiting for that perfect shot!
