These earrings have so many different ideas poured into them and I am thrilled with how they turned out! I wanted to create some earrings for the Halloween period that could be worn all year round and these were just one of the designs I came up with.
These moth earrings are heavily inspired by the hawkshead moths from the Silence of the Lambs film. I also wanted to give them dark academia feel and drew on the old Victorian collections of taxidermy moths and butterflies you might find in the back of an old museum or in an eccentric curio cabinet.
Adding the various charms (especially the moons and lightening bolts) gives the earrings a subtle magicial/celestial feel.
I hope you love them as much as I do! I know I will have to make a pair of these for myself soo, as well as plenty more moth and butterfly collections in the future!
