my mother was a tomboy

well, well, well, where are we? ah yes... this is one of a series of box frames about what my mother was... in this one she is a tomboy, perhaps your mother was also a tomboy and it rings a bell, perhaps you never knew your mother...but you imagine she could have been this or perhaps you did know your mother, she was a shoplifting besom and to be honest youd rather just invent a new one or borrow mine. thats fine. do that. hey, whatever works right? anyway, my mother was a tomboy she says she would spend hours down at the funfair firing the small rusty air rifles and winning countless goldfish. she discovered a talent for shooting. word spread throughout the fairground community and soon she was employed by a circus shooting cigarettes from a troupe of befeathered and lithe young girls mouths. the picture shows a profile of my mother as a young child with her expensive rifle. she practically grew up in the travelling circus, and later so did i and treated the strongman, bearded lady and all the clowns as my extended family. the box frame is 265 x 265 x 45mm so roughly the size if you were to square off a piece of a4 paper. the silhouette of my mother is drawn by me and adhered directly to the front glass, the brown paper behind was simply ripped from the page of an old book. if this thing sells im going to knock these bad boys out like there was no tomorra, so dont be thinkin youve got a one-off. plenty of people have mothers who are tomboys you know, its not just you and me. if your mum wasnt a tomboy, look around, my mum was other things.
