I was inspired inspired to paint this whale after watching these majestic marine mammals off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. I used one of my own photos as reference- yes the whale really was that close! I could see it's huge white pectoral fin glowing under the water next to the boat.

This original one-off acrylic painting of a Humpback Whale is called 'Heart of Newfoundland'. It shows the dorsal fin and back of the whale, with its huge white pectoral fin glowing under the water.
