A lovely decorative bible verse plate
When you walk through the waters I will be with you
Isaiah 43:2
The plate measures approximately 5.5 inches across and is decorated with a blue/green glaze - fired to high gloss stoneware. My potters stamp is displayed on the underside.
Commencing with a raw stoneware clay, the plate was shaped and imprinted with key words from Psalm 46:10.
... but the journey has only just begun as this is followed by two kiln firings as the plate is prepared and 'dressed' with its' coat of many colours' - well, in this case a blue and green glaze. To give it a high gloss sheen it was dipped in an additional transparent glaze.
I have a small studio in Nottinghamshire (my garage in the summer and my conservatory in the winter)!
My kiln and potters wheel are housed in the garage. Pottery is so messy! A great hobby to get into! I have been a potter for over 30 years.
I love to express my faith through my work - it gives me great joy.
