Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A bright red poinsettia Christmas flower.
I wanted a new Christmassy suncatcher and a bright red poinsettia with shiny green leaves was the perfect choice.
The flower has 2 rings of 5 petals. The inner petals texured streaky red. The outer petals inridescent red. Within the petals I've enclosed a bright yellow nugget with a dichroic topping.
The leaves round the flower are bright green iridescent and textured and very shiny.
This is approximately 16cms x 13cm and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure they are unique.
