Full description

Without a doubt this suncatcher will bring happy memories of visits to the seaside. Perfect for that special gift or as a special treat that will gives endless joy on any day, but will bring a flood of colour into your home on those sunny days. It is sure to be noticed with its unique Ash wood surround which was naturally felled in Country Durham area of the UK. The beach hut design was inspired by those found at Blyth, Northumberland in the UK.

The glass has been created by hand using the traditional Tiffany technique. Each piece of glass is hand cut and grinded before wrapping with copper foil tape. It is then soldered together. It is washed thoroughly and then a black patina applied to the soldered parts. Finally it is waxed and polished before inserting into the wooden frame.

The wood frame is made from Ash and has the added feature of the live edge. Then an insert is cut out and a ledge cut into it so the glass fits securely. The wood is sanded to a fine finish and Osmo oil applied.
