My granddaughter was born in 2021, and I wanted to make her a gift for her birth. I had seen many blanket, but I wanted to try a new stitch and came across the Crocodile Stitch in Crochet.
I made my granddaughter a mottled colour blanket and her mum had so many people asking where had she bought it? She explained that I had made it, and as such , was a unique gift too.
Then I was asked to make some more, and it seemed a good idea to make a few and pop them in my shop, then people could buy one in different colours or send me a message to see if I could make one in another colour.
This stitch eats yarn up, and uses double the amount of a normal blanket. It is a more complicated stitch too, so it takes longer to make than my other blankets.
My daughter in law, still has people comment on how unusual and beautiful the blanket is, even 2.5 years on. I hope that people who buy one from me, get the joy from seeing other people love the blanket too.

Full description
This is a unique Mermaid style blanket for a Newborn baby to snuggle in. As the baby grows, the blanket can still be used as it as it becomes a waist blanket. It can also be a photograph prop from Newborn to larger baby.
The blankets are made by myself and are all unique. They are not made from a pattern but are created in my head, as I work the crochet. Every single blanket is one of a kind.
The size of the PINK Mermaid blanket (without tail); Length 21in/53 cm Width 13 in/33 cm.
The yarn is Acrylic and as such, can be washed in a machine on a gentle wash. It's best to air dry and I don't advise tumble drying, but I know people who have without issue.
These make a perfect Welcome gift for a Newborn baby or a for a larger baby as the blanket grows with them. They really are more beautiful in reality than the photographs show. They make a great gift for parents who like unique gifts.
