Merman Red Dragon Mermaid Fantasy is hand drawn by Bikabunny. It is a unique and original design created in inks and pencil colours.
Merman are legendary mythical creatures, which are human but animal or fish-like. Merfolk are one of the classical mythological creatures - probably the second most famous to dragons. A fabled marine creature with the head and upper body of a man (or dragon) and the tail of a fish. Half human, half fish sirens of the sea - legendary sea creatures chronicled in maritime culture since time immemorial. The ancient Greek poet Homer wrote of them in 'The Odyssey'.
Triton is usually represented as a merman, with the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish. At some time during the Greek and Roman era, Triton(s) became a generic term for a merman (mermen) in art and literature. Triton in Greek mythology, a merman, demigod of the sea, he was the son of the sea god Poseidon, and his wife Amphitrite. According to the Greek poet Hesiod, Triton dwelt with his parents in a golden palace in the depths of the sea.
