I have been experimenting with marbling for a while, and during lockdown I had the time to discover this new technique and I happened to have the materials at home . I find it a very relaxing technique as you have to be quite still so as to not distort your ink.

Full description
Suminigashi is an ancient Japanese technique of marbling paper. These hypnotising prints are created by floating ink on water. Each ring of ink is a touch of the paintbrush tip to the water surface.
The meditative way these prints are made I think are reflected in the prints themselves.
They could be tree rings or a ripple on the surface of the water.

This one is made onto Washi paper, which is lightweight but very strong and soft, made in Japan.
The light fast ink is absorbed into the surface of the high quality paper. On the reverse is a ghost of the print from the front due to the absorbent quality of the paper.

The print will come backed onto card and carefully wrapped in tissue paper. I am trying to use as little plastic in my packaging as possible.

My postage now includes tracking as standard. Uk orders will be sent by Royal Mail tracked 48. International orders will be Royal Mail international tracked. If you buy multiple items from my shop I will refund any over charge on postage.
