Full description

This sashiko kit contains everything you need to start a sashiko project. With the general amount of thread supplied and the premium quality of the needles, thimble, and stencils, it will last a long time for many projects.

Everything in the kit has been hand picked by us after trying most similar products available in the market. We hope this will give you the most pleasant experience when trying out sashiko.

If each item is purchased individually, this kit will cost you around £40 (if not much more).

The kit contains:

Indigo plant-dyed fabric: one piece around 30cm x 30cm. Our plant dyed fabric is ideal for sashiko - it is easy for needle and thread to pass while still has good ability to maintain its shape and structure instead of being too loose and soft. It has been hand dyed with unique look, texture, and shade. The natural dyeing process means that the fabric will not need to be washed for pre-shrinking.

Sashiko thread: 100 meters white (6-ply) and 75 meters natural unbleached (3-ply). These two types are most commonly used for most sashiko projects. The 6-ply thread is the standard thickness used for medium and large sized project, while the 3-ply thread is more used for smaller projects.

Sashiko needles in two sizes: the shorter one for 4-ply thread, the longer one for 6-ply thread

Leather thimble/finger protector with metal plate:

Sashiko stencil

Heat erasable pen refills: 2 white and 1 blue
