There are many beautiful granny square projects available and I’d love to make many of them. I wanted to make something colourful and this bag with its rainbow sides and handles fitted my remit.

Full description
This beautiful bag has been handmade using granny squares joined together and lengthened with granny stitches before being joined with rainbow stripes to create the sides of the bag. Rainbow stripes have also been used to make the handles. It was made using 100% cotton yarn in seven lovely colours and is lined in cotton fabric that has small dragonflies on it.
The bag is approximately 26cm wide x 28cm tall and 8cm deep. The handles are approximately 58cm long making it a great shoulder bag.
