This piece all started with the skull and crossbones a friend gave to me as her sons had grown out of dressing up.

Full description
This treasure island features a huge treasure chest overflowing with sparkly jewels, skull and crossbones flag, a tropical tree complete with coconuts, and a cheeky monkey hiding in the tree. It would be an amazing addition to a child's bedroom or the perfect gift for a pirate fan.
All my art is made with upcycled, recycled, repurposed or remnant materials making them not just a perfect gift for someone but also a gift to the future of our planet.
Each piece is unique using what ever materials I have to hand.
This piece was inspired by an unwanted plastic skull and crossbones necklace from of an old dress up outfit, 'the treasure' is created with various pieces of broken jewellery, the chest lock is the back of a clip on earring, the coconuts are beads, the tree trunk is a piece of driftwood and the monkey is an old charm. All mounted on old fabric samples, including a cashmere sky, and reused tissue paper.
It's a perfect pirate paradise!
The quality box frame measures 8" x 8", has real glass, and can either be hung on the wall or stand on a shelf, windowsill or piece of side furniture. The collage itself measures 6" x 6".
Each piece comes boxed. To reduce my carbon footprint all postal packaging materials are clean and reused from deliveries I've received.
All part of my philosophy to create something new from something old.
NB Captain Hook figure not included.
