As a horror film fan especially old-school zombie films, I couldn't resist finding a suitable zombie subject to cut. This piece is dedicated to IMO the master of the horror genre at the time, Lucio Fulci. This once-banned classic film is the epitome of Italian zombie horror and one of my all-time favourites.
Also known as Zombi 2, Island of the Zombies, and Zombie, Zombie Flesh Eaters bested George Romero’s film at the Italian box office but suffered much censorship trouble, especially in the UK, where the BBFC cut nearly two minutes for the cinemas which comprised most of the gore. Both this version and the uncut one came out on UK video in 1981, and both were banned as Video Nasties. Only in 2005 was it released uncut in the UK.
