Perfect for learning new stitches, Christmas gifting or making quick items for Christmas craft fairs, knit a set of pocket-sized Christmas toys with this downloadable PDF knitting pattern.
The step-by-step pattern takes you through knitting and making up a cute snowman with a carrot nose, scarf and hat, a red-nosed reindeer and a mini forest of Christmas trees. All designs are knitted flat (so there is no working in the round) and suitable for knitters with just a little experience. The trees pattern teaches you how to knit texture to make a lovely bobbly effect and they can be knitted with or without snow on the top!
To knit this set you will need: chunky yarn and a little dk yarn (suggestions are given in the pattern but you can use any yarn you have in your stash) straight knitting needles, some stuffing, 6mm toy safety eyes for the snowman and reindeer (or you can embroider the eyes), sewing needle and a scrap of red felt.
Snowman measures 19cm tall (to top of hat) Christmas Trees measure 20cm tall, Reindeer measures 15cm tall
Suggested Yarns:
We used one ball each of Stylecraft Special Chunky in colours 1822 (Pistachio), in 422 (Aspen) in 1001 (White) and in 1711 (Spice)
Also a little Rowan Purewool Superwash Worsted in colour 133 (Gold) for the antlers and nose patch (but you can use any Dk yarn)
