Yes, really, the tree did actually look like that - I have the original photo I took in France which still amuses me :) This was one of a stand of dead trees in a clearing in La Foret in the Dordogne region, where I lived for a year.

Original charcoal drawing of a tree on watercolour paper, framed in satinwood with acrylic glazing. One from the archives, this - one of the last pieces I did on textured paper. I'm offering it at a great price to make some space in the studio for my growing mob of house monsters.
