This little chap was on my garden path one morning when I lived in Cornwall, beautifully backlit by the morning sun. I'd never noticed just how beautiful snails actually are and the detail when I enlarged the photos I took was amazing. I couldn't resist :)

Original charcoal pencil drawing of a snail, on watercolour paper. Additional images show the work in progress. A unique portrait of often overlooked British wildlife - fantastic detail of the snails' face subtly shifts to a softer focus on the shell, giving a natural close up view.
Framed in oak, ready to hang, with acrylic glazing so it's safe to ship. Frame size 33cm x 28cm
