Owls are an important part of the of Leeds, they are a symbol of the city’s heritage and a monument to the people and events that built it. They appear on the Leeds Coat-of-Arms and were added to represent the Savile family who were gifted large parts of Yorkshire by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. Throughout the city you can spot over 25 unique owls and even follow the Leeds Owl Trail map to find out about their history
