The Spit Kit is an add-on product that can be ordered together with my campfire tripod, or will happily retro-fit to one of my existing tripods if you already own one.

The kit comprises four pieces that effectively transform the tripod into a fully adjustable spit for roasting larger joints of meat over an open fire: namely two fork clamps and two hook clamps. To assemble the spit, the two U-shaped legs of the tripod are pushed vertically into the ground on either side of the fire. Upon each of these legs mounts a hook clamp. These may be positioned at any height on the legs and clamped with a screw - thus allowing infinite adjustability of the height of your spit over the fire.

The third leg of the tripod (with the ring top) is pushed through the roasting joint, and the two fork clamps are threaded onto it and fixed to hold the meat securely and ensure it turns with the spit. Again, these can be positioned anywhere along the length of the tripod leg and thus can accommodate joints of many sizes. The assembled spit is then suspended in the two hook clamps attached to the vertical legs.
