Quiff Linen kindly requests customers take a moment to read the notice below.

Quiff Linen dolls are Art dolls, they are meticulously crafted sculptures that are designed to be admired rather than played with. These dolls are created skillfully using a wide range of materials and techniques. Each doll is unique, reflecting Quiff Linen's style and vision. Due to the amount of time and skill required to make them, they do appear expensive, but they are truly works of art.

Please note Quiff Linen has had to take an enforced break which will cause a delay in the release of new artwork. In the meantime please feel free to contact me with any query.

When I make my Quiff Linen dolls, I follow a specific process. First, I go through my collection of fabrics and choose a design that I like. Then, I select complementary materials and determine a theme for the doll. I decide whether it will have a feminine or masculine appearance and give it a suitable name. After that, I research different facial characteristics and carefully paint the doll's face. Once this is done, I give it meticulous attention to detail to fully develop its character.
I thoroughly studied the Japanese Geisha with KoKo. It was fascinating to explore the history of their white-painted faces and the intricate details of their Kimonos. Overall, it was a delightful learning experience.

Full description

Konnichiwa (hello) I am KoKo Kimono, Geisha.

I have been meticulously designed and crafted with great attention to detail. I can be a beautiful addition to any doll collection but also a unique gift for Japanese enthusiasts or world travellers.

I am unique, as all of my painted linen and silk are authentic and crafted by my creator.

Painted white linen shows my ‘Utsukushii’ or beautiful face. My hairstyle combines hand-corded wool, a flax ponytail, and my signature flax quiff. Handcrafted flower blossoms, gracefully flow over my face.

My maker simplified my clothing, as a kimono usually consists of several intricate components. The front showcases a lovely floral fabric, adorned with an ‘Obi’ or sash using batik-painted silk, this is tied into a bow at the back.

I have non-jointed arms that are adorned with batik-painted silk ‘Sode’ or sleeves featuring handcrafted blossom flowers. My legs are also non-jointed, and I wear white linen to represent my ‘Tabi’ or split-toe sock, which showcases my handmade ‘Geta’ or flip-flop sandals.

I am carefully filled with leftover scraps of fabric and toy filling. A wax seal bearing my maker's unique design authenticates me.

Sorry, but I am not a toy so I am unsuitable for children.

I am approx. 16" in entire length and have a rounded figure hidden by my beautiful Kimono.

I am not to be washed but I love a tickle with a soft duster. Just so you know, my clothing cannot be removed.
