Full description
Find a penny, pick it up all day long, you’ll have good luck. Pass that penny to a friend; your penny luck will never end.
Here we have a stunning 1968 Irish “lucky penny” coin ring in a variety of sizes. These have been made using 1968 Irish pennies, the last year minted before decimalisation in 1971, an interesting part in Irish history. The details on this have been beautifully preserved during the reforging process. The intricate design has been highlighted using a chemically applied patina which will eventually wear leaving a more natural look, or you could just hit it with the brasso and make it like new.
As this ring is copper based, chances are it’s going to turn your finger green under were it sits. Don’t worry it’s perfectly harmless it’s just you skins natural oils and salts reacting with the copper. You may recall you Gran or Grandad wearing copper bracelets for rheumatism or arthritis, it’s also claimed copper has antibacterial properties.
Unfortunately I can’t guarantee the amount of luck contained in these rings as each one is unique. But if you do happen to win the lottery..........
If you need one making in another year please ask as I have loads of pennies, bear in mind certain years were non mintage years.
I currently have UK size S to Z made but can make these to order. If you need a different size place an order and just drop me a message and I’ll be happy to sort one out. These look best from a P to a Z anything smaller I’d recommend the Half Penny.
