This colourful hot air balloon sun catcher will not fail to delight young and old alike. It can either be hung from a hook indoors or it can be placed in the gentle breeze outdoors on the spinner hook for a kaleidoscope effect of multiple colours appear from not only the different glass colours but also the overlapping mixing of shades and colours. This would make the perfect birthday or housewarming gift for someone who enjoys sitting in their garden, summerhouse or conservatory. It would also make a beautiful decoration in a nursery. (Please note this is made from glass and 60/40 lead solder and should not be used as a toy. Hands should be washed after handling).
It is unusual to see stained glass made into a 3D object. To achieve this, various colour of Mystic stained glass are used. Each piece of glass is hand cut, grinded to shape and then wrapped with copper foil. Each section of the balloon is soldered together to create the 3D model. The hexagonal basket glass pieces also go through the same process. All pieces are then cleaned and a wax polish applied. Sections of chain are attached to small rings to join the balloon with the basket.
Comes with a detachable hook that allows the balloon to spin.
