Every year I look up to the sky in anticipation of the Swifts arrival to the UK. Their screams are unmistakable and the sight of them cutting through the air is a sight everyone must experience. Unfortunately their numbers here are in decline and those wonderful days when the Swifts arrive and dance in our skies are getting less and less common.
I was extremely lucky to visit Italy recently and was mesmerised by the thousands of Swifts in the sky over the village I stayed in, screaming, eating and sleeping on the wing....... I could have watched forever, if only the sun hadn't gone down!

Inspired by the arrival of our beautiful Swifts, these brooches feature a Swift silhouette against a blue summer sky.
These brooches are handmade, making each one unique. Needle felted using Corriedale and Merino wool and finished with a silver tone brooch back.
Measuring approximately 4cm by 2 cm deep, bring some of the natural world into your look with this statement brooch.
Match with a scarf, hat or a beautiful summer dress to complete your outfit or maybe gift it to a fellow Bird lover.
