Mother of Pearl is the name given to the lining or nacre of mollusc shells.
It is a unique combination of minerals secreted by molluscs such as oysters into thin platelets of calcium carbonate that have a width similar to light waves, which gives the nacre an iridescent, shimmering sheen.

Zircon is known for its brilliance and flashes of light.
These zircon properties are close enough to the properties of diamond to account for centuries of confusion between the two gems.
In the Middle Ages, this gem was thought to induce sound sleep, drive away evil spirits and promote riches, honour and wisdom.
These beads have been heat-treated to a beautiful sunset orange colour.

Full description
Each of these dainty earrings features a 6mm and a 4mm cream Mother-of-Pearl bead topped with a 4mm 'silk' Swarovski bicone and a 3mm micro-faceted burnt orange Zircon bead, separated by tiny 2mm gold vermeil rounds.
The beads are threaded onto gold vermeil pins and hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold Vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold, and the wires are stamped '925'.
These elegant earrings measure approximately 1.25 inches (3cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small gift bag.
