I often browse FB marketplace looking for inspiration and new ideas. I found those old thread cones and I thought the'd be perfect for a hanging lamp. At the beginning I wanted to leave them as they were but I stumbled upon real wood teak veneer and thought I could give those cones a totally new look...
I was born in a city know for its textile industry and now I live in Leicester, once a textile centre itself so it was like honouring both cities at the same time.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description
"Leicester Cones" were made as a tribute to Leicester's textile heritage.
Old thread cones plus beautiful real wood teak veneer and some plywood. A simple, yet elegant concept. Ah, I forgot. The top part is made from walnut wood.
As always with my designs, the wood wasn't bought in a shop but recovered from an old piece of furniture I purchased.
