‘First Light, Queen’s Park’
This is Queen’s Park in Glasgow, looking north, on a cold and misty blue morning.
The early birds are up and enjoying the serenity of this vast Victorian park before the paths, pond sides and grass verges fill with the south-side community.
Beyond the park’s arena and the centuries old trees, the pale monotoned skyline is pierced by steeples old and new. From our left to right we can see the Baptist Church of Queen’s Park, Nithsdale Lodge, the Glasgow Science Tower and Govanhill Church of Queen’s Park.
From Shawlands to Strathbungo, Langside to Newlands, Pollokshields to Govanhill, Battlefield to Crossmyloof, everyone has their favourite route and time of day to enjoy the 148 acres of this beautiful parkland within the heart of Glasgow’s south side.
Complete size: 25.5cm x 25.5cm
