I could never understand why a traditional tea cosy was designed to be continually taken off every time you poured tea, took up lots of room and because it wasn't a cosy fit allowed the heat to escape. Knitted tea cosies have a tight fit and I wanted to replicate that in fabric, thus being able to add thermal wadding also. Being fully reversible is an added bonus too...

Finally a tea cosy that stays on when pouring your tea...and forms a lovely bright cheerful centre piece on your table.
This beautiful handmade tea-cosy makes an elegant addition to any home.The cosy is completely reversible and has a thermal inner wadding to help keep the tea warmer longer and because the cosy stays on while you make and pour your tea, no heat escapes. All you do is place your teapot in the middle of the cosy with the spout through the gap on the fastened side. Draw the ribbons and the fabric will gather around your teapot and then tie the ribbon around the teapot handle. You have full access to the lid, spout and handle and your cosy will stay put....
They are ideal for a round 4-6 person teapot as they are very adjustable.
A tea cosy makes a great housewarming gift, the perfect way to make the new kitchen feel lived in and is also an ideal wedding or anniversary gift. Not forgetting any tea loving Mum, Nan, Dad, Friend, the list is endless....
