I fell in love with this fabric the first time I saw it and couldn't wait to experiment. I use it to make quilts, table mats, coasters, cushions and curtains and the rich earthy colours never fail to please. It is a very tactile fabric and such a pleasure to sew with.

These coasters form part of the Primitive Homespun Fabric collection.
Set of 4, reversible, heatproof cotton coasters.
Heat resistant wadding lies between two layers of fabric. They are traditionally ragged around the edges and measure approx. 5" square.
These coasters have a wonderful cottage, rustic feel, but, equally blend well in the modern house. Unlike traditional cotton fabrics which are printed, each fibre strand of homespun fabric is dyed, as such, there is no right/wrong side & the lovely rich earthy colours & pattern is seen from both sides of the fabric. Homespun’s typically have small imperfections & nubs woven into the fabric, this is consistent & characteristic of the primitive nature of homespun & isn’t a defect, but makes each piece of fabric look a little different & unique. The weave is loose, mimicking the homemade look and is traditionally either plaid, striped or plain. The fabric is extremely durable & the more it's washed, the softer & cosier it gets, making it perfect & the only fabric recommended for rag stitching...
Caring for your Coasters
This product has been washed once to begin the ragging process. It will continue to shed for at least one/two more washings, until the process is complete. It is highly recommended to hand wash in cold/cool water, using a mild detergent. A quarter of cup of table salt will help keep the rich colours. Give a good shake & line dry.
