I started to paint deer skulls and antlers found on the hill then when beach-combing I decided to also paint shells. The delicate insides seemed a challenge to decorate and to add individual designs.
The shape and form of the shells often dictates the brush strokes.
NO decoupage, NO pre sourced image, just me and my brush!
My ethos has always been to make the unloved loved and these discarded shells can now be appreciated for their beauty in another form.

Full description
This one of a kind hand painted oyster shell was collected whilst beach-combing on the shore near my home. Painted with acrylics in an ethereal, floaty design reminiscent of the seaweed and underwater beauty beneath the waves. The inside of the shell is painted with the outside left in its natural form.
With a silver metallic thread and pearlised bead, the shell can be admired as a decorative hanging ornament or as extra special gift wrap.
Each mussel shell is presented in an organza bag. Should you wish for me to send the shell as a gift, just add a note for the gift tag and recipient’s details and I will happily do that for you.
